Sensor Systems Engineer

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Sensor Systems Engineer to design, model, and analyze advanced sensing solutions for national security and space applications. You will develop system requirements, build simulations, assess performance, and support integration and test of multi-physics sensor systems. Responsibilities

• Design and analyze advanced sensor architectures for national security and space missions
• Develop and manage system requirements, interfaces, and performance specifications
• Build and execute models and simulations to evaluate sensor and system performance
• Support integration, verification, and validation of sensor systems and prototypes
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate mission needs into technical solutions
• Prepare technical reports, briefings, and documentation for sponsors and stakeholders
• Apply systems engineering best practices and configuration management processes
• Use tools such as MATLAB or Python for data analysis and algorithm development
