Seeking a Skilled Apigee Consultant to Lead API Modernization and Migration

Are you a hands-on API expert passionate about transforming legacy API environments? Join our dynamic team as an Apigee Consultant and play a pivotal role in migrating our legacy Axway and Apigee Private Cloud/Edge APIs to the innovative Apigee Hybrid platform. This remote, long-term opportunity is perfect for talented developers eager to showcase their expertise in API development, automation, and cloud-native solutions while working closely with our US-based team.

Please Note: This is a W2 role
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: 100 % Remote within USA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of legacy Axway and Apigee Private Cloud/Edge APIs to Apigee Hybrid
  • Develop, build, and refactor API proxies, shared flows, and policies to ensure seamless functionality
  • Design and implement automation scripts for deployment, environment configuration, and operational tasks
  • Manage containerized environments and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes
  • Collaborate with architects and US-based teams to align migration strategies and deployment schedules
  • Troubleshoot runtime issues, operational challenges, and performance bottlenecks within API environments
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline setup, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure security and compliance standards are met throughout the API lifecycle

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Proven experience with Apigee Hybrid / Apigee X, including proxy migration, runtime environments, deployment strategies, and operational troubleshooting
  • Strong API proxy development skills: building, refactoring, and migrating proxies, shared flows, policies, flow hooks, target endpoints, and fault handling
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation for deployment, environment setup, and operational tasks in Linux or cloud-native settings
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts: clusters, namespaces, pods, deployments, config maps, secrets, ingress, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline automation, version control, and release management
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, especially in containerized deployment and infrastructure automation
  • Integration expertise with REST/SOAP APIs, authentication patterns, transformations, and backend connectivity
  • Ability to work independently, align with US team schedules, and execute tasks with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Axway platform or other API gateways
  • Cloud deployment experience beyond Azure/AWS
  • Familiarity with additional automation tools and scripting languages

Elevate your career by leading a critical migration project that pushes the boundaries of API technology. If you meet these qualifications and are eager to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply now and bring your expertise to an innovative organization committed to cloud-native excellence.
