The Role

• Interpret engineering drawings and prepare plate materials using cutting and grinding techniques.
• Assemble ship structures, accurately fitting, fairing, and tack-welding components.
• Fabricate various ship items including seats, ladders, flooring, and watertight doors.
• Operate forming machinery such as rolling, flanging, and cutting equipment.

What You'll Need

• Modern Apprenticeship certificate (Trade Papers) and relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Demonstrable up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Understanding and application of core manufacturing processes and tack welding standards.
• Confidence and responsibility in operating oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Adherence to SHE principles and risk-assessment requirements.
• Experience working safely in confined spaces or at height, with relevant safety certifications.
