Job Description

Financial Advisor

Steller Wealth Planning | Issaquah, WA | Full-Time

Base Salary: $95,000–$105,000 + Performance-Based Bonuses

Build Your Future with Established Clients, Meaningful Relationships, and a Healthy Work-Life Balance

Are you an experienced financial professional ready to take ownership of established client relationships, grow within a supportive team, and build a long-term advisory career?

Steller Wealth Planning, a Private Wealth Advisory Practice of Ameriprise Financial, is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Financial Advisor to join our collaborative wealth management team.

This is not a traditional advisor opportunity focused solely on building a book of business from scratch. Our practice has an established client base and a strong support structure. You will progressively take responsibility for current clients while helping strengthen existing relationships and grow the practice.

A core part of this position is transitioning existing Steller Wealth Planning clients to the incoming Financial Advisor over time. Working alongside our experienced advisors, you will gradually assume primary responsibility for these relationships as you become familiar with clients and their planning needs. The role also offers a path toward greater leadership responsibilities and potential future equity ownership.

About Our Practice

At Steller Wealth Planning, we believe that exceptional financial advice begins with meaningful relationships.

We serve a loyal client base with a strong emphasis on comprehensive financial planning, coaching, and long-term relationships rather than transactional sales.

What makes our practice different is the experience we have intentionally created for both our clients and our team. Imagine looking forward to coming to work: joining a close-knit, supportive group that values collaboration, mutual respect, a healthy work-life balance, and the opportunity to do meaningful work without sacrificing personal time.

Our advisors are supported by an established operational team, allowing them to focus on financial planning, developing client relationships, and delivering meaningful advice rather than managing every administrative detail independently.

We believe a sustainable, healthy work environment supports both exceptional client service and long-term career satisfaction. As we grow, we are committed to preserving our positive culture, balanced schedule, and the relationships that make this practice special.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management & Development

  • Work alongside experienced advisors to transition established client relationships into your care, progressively becoming the primary advisor for current clients over time.
  • Lead or participate in client meetings, providing personalized financial guidance and identifying opportunities to address evolving client needs.
  • Build long-term relationships through proactive communication, thoughtful recommendations, and consistent follow-through.
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Financial Planning & Implementation

  • Develop, present, and implement comprehensive financial plans addressing retirement, investments, insurance, and broader wealth management needs.
  • Deliver financial planning and investment strategies aligned with clients' financial goals and circumstances.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable guidance that helps clients make informed decisions.
  • Identify additional planning opportunities within existing client relationships and coordinate implementation with the advisory and operations teams.

Practice Growth & Business Development

  • Contribute to revenue growth through deepening existing relationships, client referrals, and new relationship development.
  • Participate in practice growth initiatives while maintaining the relationship-focused approach that defines the client experience.
  • Assume increasing responsibility for an existing portfolio of client relationships while contributing to referrals and new business development.

Team Collaboration & Client Experience

  • Collaborate with advisors and support staff to deliver consistent, high-quality client service.
  • Coordinate meeting preparation, follow-up activities, and implementation of planning recommendations.
  • Leverage the practice's established support structure to ensure timely execution of client needs and a seamless client experience.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

We are looking for more than someone who can deliver financial advice. We want a professional who enjoys building relationships, welcomes responsibility for existing clients, and values a positive, healthy team environment where people support one another and look forward to their work.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a long-term career mindset and is interested in growing into greater advisory and leadership responsibilities.
  • Enjoys working directly with clients and building lasting relationships.
  • Is comfortable contributing to business development while maintaining a planning-first, relationship-driven approach.
  • Values collaboration, accountability, a healthy work-life balance, and a positive team culture.
  • Appreciates the opportunity to work within an established practice while helping shape its future.

How to Apply

If you are an experienced financial professional looking to take on established client relationships, build a meaningful advisory career, and join a team that values both client outcomes and quality of life, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit your resume and cover letter highlighting your experience and interest in the opportunity.
