Senior Cloud AI Engineer

• Location: Brisbane QLD, Perth WA, Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, Sydney NSW, and Adelaide


• 12 months contract + 2 X 12 months extension options


• Must be Australian Citizen and able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.

FinXL is looking for an experience Senior Cloud AI Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering complex application development projects and building secure-by-design architectures. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Data Scientists, Architecture, and Cyber Security teams to establish foundational platform capabilities and enforce governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure to support AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI services.


• Build secure-by-design architectures incorporating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deliver scalable solutions.


• Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimisation of enterprise AI solutions to ensure operational excellence.


• Ensure all AI platforms comply with organisational security and government regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud AI Engineer across on-premise, public cloud, and hybrid platforms.


• Strong background in Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container engineering.


• Extensive experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC technologies like Terraform or Ansible.


• Demonstrated experience in AI/ML engineering, Large Language Model (LLM) tooling, and GPU engineering.


• Practical experience working with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.


• Security Requirement: Must be Australian Citizen and able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
