Position Overview
The Peer Notetaking Coordinator will support the Disability Access Office (DAO) by coordinating the recruitment, onboarding, and payment setup of students who provide class notes to peers registered with DAO. This temporary position supports the start of the semester and helps ensure students with approved peer notetaking accommodations have appropriate support in place as quickly as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the recruitment and assignment of Peer Notetakers for DAO-registered students during the first weeks of the semester.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Peer Notetakers and DAO students, responding to questions and providing prompt, professional communication primarily via email.
- Complete administrative tasks and update student and notetaker information using the AIM (Accessible Information Management) system.
- Maintain accurate records and tracking information using spreadsheets.
- Onboard new Peer Notetakers and provide guidance on the peer notetaking process.
- Assist with troubleshooting questions or concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Use the Buy2Pay system to assist with hiring and payment setup for student Peer Notetakers.
- Monitor outstanding tasks and follow up with students to ensure assignments are completed in a timely manner.
- Prioritize multiple tasks effectively during high-volume periods.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle student information appropriately.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent written communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to students in a timely, professional manner.
- Experience with spreadsheets and administrative systems.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Previous experience in higher education, student services, or disability/access services is helpful but not required.
