The main function of a program manager (general) is to oversee the successful planning, execution, and closing of complex projects within an organization. Job Responsibilities:
- Establish program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets in alignment with organizational strategy and goals.
- Lead, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of program activity, including the work of project managers and other staff within the program.
- Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on program status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure integration and synergy among projects within the program to maximize benefits and efficiencies.
- Evaluate and assess program results against defined success criteria and perform post-program reviews for continuous improvement.
- Resolve complex issues that transcend individual projects and require coordinated solutions across project teams.
- Strong leadership capabilities to motivate teams and manage large-scale programs.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities to oversee several projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in program and project management methodologies and tools.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical aptitude with an ability to identify strategic insights from complex data.
- A bachelor''s degree in business, management, or a related field, often coupled with professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP).
- 2-4 years of experience.
