Agile Data Product Owner - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Data Product Owner for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role serves as the business authority for a defined data product area and is responsible for shaping, prioritizing, and continuously refining the work needed to deliver trusted, governed, and business-aligned data products. The role will partner with Product Managers, data analysts, delivery teams, and governance stakeholders to translate product strategy into executable features. This hybrid role requires work in-office 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:

• Serve as the business authority for a defined data product area, helping to define, document, and prioritize requirements
• Develop, evolve, and communicate the product area vision, priorities, goals, and strategy to key partners and stakeholders
• Own prioritization of a clearly understood product area backlog aligned to product area vision, goals, and stakeholder needs
• Define and refine features, user stories, business readiness stories, and acceptance criteria
• Validate completed work by accepting user stories after acceptance criteria and the definition of done have been met
• Facilitate frequent collaboration between customers, stakeholders, Product Management, and delivery teams
• Coordinate with other Product Owners to resolve sequencing, prioritization, scope, and dependency conflicts
• Actively participate in product area events and Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, planning, and retrospectives
• Use Agile workflow and collaboration tools, such as Jira and Confluence, to maintain a transparent backlog structure

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in digital product management, product ownership, Agile delivery, data product management, business analysis, or data management
• Experience with Agile practices and frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, or scaled Agile methods
• Experience with workflow/collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Ability to translate product vision, business outcomes, and stakeholder needs into clear features, stories, and backlog priorities
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to facilitate collaboration across business, technology, risk, and compliance partners
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Desired skills:

• Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)
• Experience with data management, data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, reporting, or analytics
• Experience with enterprise data warehouses, cloud-based data platforms, and reporting solutions
• Experience working in highly regulated environments requiring adherence to risk, compliance, audit, and policy requirements
• Strong risk management and dependency management skills

Pay range: $46.25 - $54.25 per hour
