SALARY REQUIREMENTS Candidates are invited to submit their salary expectations along with their application. The compensation for this role will be competitive and is aligned with industry standards, taking into consideration factors such as experience, education, and geographic location. The base salary range for this position is $134, 500 to $173,385 (USD), exclusive of any discretionary bonuses and benefits.
JOB DESCRIPTION MissionEdge Technologies is seeking an experienced System Administrator to support the design, integration, operation, and sustainment of complex development and test infrastructure. This role spans network management, network architecture and systems engineering, infrastructure installation and maintenance, telecommunications, and information systems security. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise and development/test networks, computer systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and RF systems and components.
The System Administrator will work closely with internal engineering teams, external organizations, and technical stakeholders to resolve complex infrastructure issues and deliver reliable, secure, and mission-ready IT environments.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage, monitor, configure, troubleshoot, and sustain development and test infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, CAN, telecommunications, servers, computer systems, network equipment, and UPS systems.
- Design and evaluate network architectures, infrastructure solutions, and technical approaches for complex development and test requirements.
- Identify and recommend IT products, technologies, tools, services, and infrastructure components.
- Develop and evaluate technical proposals and specifications for network and infrastructure changes.
- Install, configure, integrate, test, repair, and maintain hardware, software, firmware, and network components.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network, system, server, peripheral, and infrastructure issues.
- Coordinate with external organizations and technical partners to resolve system and network issues.
- Conduct site surveys and support the planning and implementation of IT installations.
- Validate system performance through testing and quality assurance activities.
- Translate conceptual designs into detailed technical specifications and implementation requirements.
- Perform full life-cycle support, including upgrades, modifications, configuration management, and sustainment of installed infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain network and system security solutions, including firewalls, encryption, antivirus controls, and intrusion detection/prevention technologies.
- Maintain accurate system inventories, configuration records, rack/elevation drawings, room layouts, and other infrastructure documentation.
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends applicable to mobile, RF, telecommunications, and development/test environments.
- Perform hardware-level repairs and modifications, including micro-soldering and circuit trace repair, when required to restore or sustain equipment and support reverse-engineering activities.
- Follow established safety, security, configuration management, and operational procedures.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Required Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree. The years of experience must be in system administration or an extremely related discipline. The degree must be in a technical discipline.
- 10 plus years of IT experience, including Windows and Linux Network Administration experience (or 15+ years of experience without a degree.
- Network architecture, topology, routing, switching, IP addressing, and network connectivity.
- LAN, WAN, CAN, telecommunications systems, RF systems, and associated protocols and standards.
- Design, implementation, operation, and sustainment of telecommunications and network infrastructure.
- Configuration and administration of computer systems and development/test networks.
- Information systems and network security principles, technologies, and best practices.
- Security hardware and software, including firewalls, encryption, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- System integration, testing, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and life-cycle support.
- Configuration management and technical documentation.
- Hardware, software, firmware, and infrastructure installation and maintenance.
- Emerging technologies and evolving solutions supporting mobile/RF development and test environments.
Working Conditions: Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be given to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager. Employees are required to notify management in advance of any plans to relocate out of state to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
Physical Requirements: May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
Background Screening/Check/Investigation: Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
