Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join and support our dynamic team in Panama City Beach, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career while supporting multiple Navy projects of varying complexity. As an engineering team member, you will apply your technical skills and aptitudes to solve problems, support project requirements, and grow as a systems engineer. You will gain exposure to the entire systems engineering lifecycle and play a role in the development, integration, and sustainment of critical Navy systems.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Support the development and documentation of system requirements using Digital Engineering (DE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and principles.
  • Perform requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and system design.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure system components integrate seamlessly into the larger architecture.
  • Conduct trade studies, and feasibility assessments to evaluate design alternatives and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Assist in the creation of engineering documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, and test plans.
  • Participate in system-level design reviews and verification/validation activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems to ensure proper integration and performance.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project and system risks, including mitigation planning and risk reporting throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Provide technical insight to support troubleshooting and resolution of issues during development, production, and fielding phases.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and technical deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the review and refinement of technical documents to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Monitor program schedules and provide regular updates on technical progress to leadership and program managers.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of work experience; Masters's Degree and 3 years of work experience.
  • Ability to understand and work with engineering tools such as MBSE tools, CAD software, or simulation platforms.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities in dynamic environments.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo, or Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience with risk management principles, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of SysML (Systems Modeling Language) for representing system architecture and requirements in MBSE environments.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CREO).
  • Familiarity with military specifications, standards, or commercial development best practices.
  • Experience working in collaborative, team-based environments.
  • Experience with systems concepts such as requirements management, risk management, verification, or validation.

Clearance Requirement:
    Interim Secret required to start. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for security clearance.
