Business Development Specialist
Position Summary
Rx Return Services is a pharmaceutical reverse distributor and pharmaceutical disposal company serving pharmacies, hospitals, infusion providers, medical facilities, and other healthcare organizations throughout the United States.
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for identifying prospective clients, initiating new business conversations, following up on assigned and inbound leads, guiding prospective clients through registration and their first return order, and conducting periodic client check-ins to maintain relationships. This role requires consistent outbound activity, strong communication skills, accurate documentation, and the ability to clearly explain Rx Return Services’ programs, pricing, processes, and value.
The Business Development Specialist will work closely with Business Development leadership, Account Management, Marketing, and other internal teams to support new-account growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct outbound business-to-business prospecting by phone, email, and other approved communication channels. Identify and engage pharmacies, healthcare facilities, and other prospective clients that may benefit from Rx Return Services. Follow up immediately and consistently on inbound, marketing-generated, and assigned leads. Explain Rx Return Services’ pharmaceutical return and disposal programs, pricing structure, processes, and key differentiators.
Qualify prospective clients by identifying their needs, current return processes, service challenges, and potential business opportunities. Schedule and conduct sales conversations, demonstrations, and follow-up appointments. Guide prospective clients from initial contact through registration, account activation, and their first return order. Demonstrate the customer portal and guide clients through creating returns, generating shipping labels, scheduling pickups, and finalizing return orders. Maintain an organized pipeline and provide timely follow-up throughout the sales process.
Accurately document calls, emails, notes, lead status, account ownership, next steps, and dispositions in Salesforce. Meet established expectations for sales activity, pipeline development, new account registrations, and completed first return orders, as per company defined sales metrics. Conduct periodic client check-ins to maintain relationships, confirm service satisfaction, encourage future return activity, and provide assistance as needed. Coordinate with Account Management and other internal teams when newly activated accounts are ready to transition into ongoing service.
Participate in training, coaching, team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing professional development. Use approved sales language and accurately represent company services, pricing, return value, timelines, and program requirements. Collaborate with Business Development leadership and Marketing on campaigns, specialized markets, lead strategies, and new-business initiatives. Support outreach to pharmacies, infusion providers, medical facilities, and other healthcare segments as assigned.
Perform additional business development responsibilities as needed to support department and company goals. Qualifications
At least two year of inside sales, business development, outbound prospecting, customer acquisition, or related experience is preferred. Experience with business-to-business sales, healthcare, pharmacy, pharmaceutical services, medical services, or another regulated industry is a plus. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in English required. Fluency in Spanish or another language, preferred.
Comfortable initiating conversations with prospective clients and conducting consistent cold outreach. Ability to explain detailed services and pricing in a clear, accurate, and professional manner. Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple prospects at different stages of the sales process. Comfortable working toward defined activity and new-business expectations. Experience using a customer relationship management platform is required. Salesforce experience is preferred.
Strong general computer skills, including proficiency with email, virtual meeting platforms, Microsoft Office, and web-based business systems. Ability to learn new technology, sales processes, regulatory concepts, and healthcare terminology. Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and escalate questions when appropriate. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with leadership and other departments. High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework, a degree, or equivalent professional experience is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Rx Return Services offers eligible employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes:
$55,000 annual starting base salary
Employees who successfully complete the 90-day introductory period and meet performance expectations may receive a
$2,500 base salary increase
Uncapped performance-based commission and bonus opportunities
Successful sales representatives may earn approximately $75,000 or more in total annual compensation
, depending on individual sales performance.
Earnings are not guaranteed, and high-performing representatives may exceed this amount.
