Mainframe z/OS System Programmer

We are looking for experienced Mainframe z/OS System Programmers with a strong background in system programming, performance tuning, and enterprise support environments. If you thrive in high-availability systems and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, this is for you!

Position: z/OS System Programmer (Mainframe) L3 / Lead

Location: USA (Remote)

Experience: [10-35 Years]

Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

Manage installation, configuration & upgrades of z/OS and ISV products

Troubleshoot critical issues and ensure SLA adherence

Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents

Support CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ environments

Monitor system performance & drive optimization/tuning

Implement backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies

Drive automation, documentation, and compliance processes

Core Skills Required:

Strong expertise in z/OS, JES, Sysplex, GDPS

Hands-on with JCL, REXX, CLIST, Assembler

Experience in CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ

Knowledge of SMP/E, RMF, SMF, performance tuning

Exposure to RACF, LPAR, HMC, USS

Familiarity with ISV tools (CA-7, Control-M, CA-1, etc.)

Good to Have:

Automation tools like NetView, OPS/MVS, SA z/OS, Tivoli and performance tools like Omegamon, Strobe, MXG

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
