Retail Sales Team Lead - Sport and Outdoor Department

As a Team Captain at DICK'S Sporting Goods, you lead by example on the sales floor, driving performance in our Sport & Outdoor departments. You'll coach and motivate teammates, deliver standout customer service, and connect athletes and outdoor enthusiasts with the right gear. Responsibilities include supporting daily store operations, merchandising, inventory recovery, and helping execute promotions. You'll foster an energetic, inclusive environment that reflects our passion for sports and community while developing the skills to grow into broader retail leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate associates on the sales floor in Sport & Outdoor departments
• Deliver high-level customer service and product recommendations to athletes and outdoor enthusiasts
• Support daily store operations, including opening/closing tasks and sales floor readiness
• Maintain merchandising standards, signage, and product presentation for assigned areas
• Assist with inventory processes, including stocking, recovery, and cycle counts
• Coach and train new and existing teammates on service standards and product knowledge
• Monitor sales performance and help drive key metrics and promotional goals
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging shopping environment for customers and teammates
• Communicate feedback from customers and team to store leadership
• Model company values, policies, and procedures at all times
