Laser Reliability Engineer

Location: Oxford (CDP), MA Salary: $135,000.00 USD Annually - $160,000.00 USD Annually Description:
Lead Laser Component Reliability Engineer
Full-time, Direct hire position
Onsite in Oxford, MA
This position focuses on the reliability and qualification of advanced optoelectronic and semiconductor devices, with a strong emphasis on statistical analysis, lifetime modeling, accelerated testing, and failure investigations.
Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute reliability test plans for optoelectronic and semiconductor-based products
• Conduct accelerated life testing, burn-in testing, qualification testing, and degradation studies
• Analyze lifetime and reliability data using statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis, Kaplan-Meier methods, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing
• Identify reliability risks and key drivers impacting product performance
• Perform root cause investigations and failure analysis on device and component-level failures
• Present technical findings and reliability recommendations to cross-functional engineering teams

Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field
• Experience in reliability engineering, product qualification, or failure analysis within semiconductor, photonics, optoelectronics, or related industries
• Strong statistical analysis background, including DOE, lifetime modeling, and reliability data analysis
• Experience with Python, R, JMP, or similar analytical tools
• Knowledge of accelerated life testing and reliability methodologies
• Exposure to failure analysis techniques such as SEM, FIB, TEM, EDX, or related characterization methods is highly desirable
