This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of shipping containers. The Role • Operate specialized equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks. • Drive hostlers to strategically position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard. • Use various heavy equipment to stack, move, and organize containers efficiently. • Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to guarantee safety. • Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily moves and tasks. • Maintain a safe work environment by strictly adhering to established protocols. What You'll Need • A valid driver’s license is mandatory for consideration. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions. • Strong commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, and holidays. • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and climb ladders/stairs on railcars. • Basic communication skills and ability to function effectively within a team.
