Job Description

About arena.online, Arena Flowers💐and Patch Plants 🌱

arena.online is a young digital business specialising in the delivery of flowers, plants and gifts. Its consumer division includes Arena Flowers and Patch, and — alongside other brands in development — is focused on building best-in-class modern consumer brands, with a team to match that ambition. This team's work is a key strand of the wider business strategy, backed by real resources and great people.

Founded in 2006, Arena Flowers is the UK's most ethical florist, and today, the UK's #1 rated ethical flower company on Trustpilot, with over 22,000 verified reviews and 4.6/5 rating. The brand has never used fossil-based single-use plastics in its packaging since 2017, pioneered the flower industry's first closed-loop waste system, and has planted over 1 million trees. It has held the top ranking on the Good Shopping Guide's Ethical Company Index for fifteen years running, scoring 100/100 since 2018.

Patch is a modern plant shop, for modern plant people. Founded in 2016, Patch helps people discover the best plants for their space, delivers them to their door, and helps them keep them alive — sourcing directly from over 100 top-rated growers. Patch has attracted over 800k customers and has twice been named the best plant delivery service by Good Housekeeping. The brand also boasts a market leading trustpilot rating of 4.7.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced, commercially-minded digital marketer to lead across two exciting brands. You'll own the strategy and performance for new customer acquisition, nurturing customers and increasing lifetime value across Arena Flowers and Patch plants.

This is a highly data-driven and analytical leadership role, giving you the opportunity to shape the digital strategy across multiple channels and platforms, and to drive incremental growth across brands spanning different verticals and demographics — each with its own opportunities and challenges.

You are trusted with full autonomy, giving you the ability and freedom to focus your attention and the attention of your team to whatever brand or channel you deem most crucial.

This role reports directly into the CEO at arena.online, will line-manage a senior digital marketing executive, and will work in close partnership with the wider consumer team, as well as regular contact with multiple external agencies and partners.

Primary responsibilities

As Digital Marketing Lead, you'll be accountable for the performance of both Arena Flowers and Patch. Examples of key activities include:

  • Own and drive the digital strategy and roadmap for both brands, working closely with senior leadership and the wider consumer team
  • Lead performance marketing across key platforms, running Google and META in-house and managing external agency relationships to find new opportunities and improve efficiency at scale
  • Set the strategy for CRM, driving lifetime value through engaging, timely and personalised customer journeys
  • Oversee and grow affiliate and partnership channels
  • Own budget planning and reporting, ensuring spend is allocated efficiently across brands and channels to maximise growth and ROAS (Core KPI)
  • Communicating performance & roadmap progress in senior leadership meetings
  • Build and run a structured testing programme across acquisition, CRM and on-site — with a strong focus on creative testing — and report results back to the business
  • Manage, mentor and develop the senior digital marketing executive, providing a roadmap for growth.

Experience and skills 🎯

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience driving growth through biddable media (e.g. Meta, Google) and other acquisition channels such as CRM, SEO or Affiliates, including experience leading or managing others
  • Experience in a D2C / e-commerce / start-up environment, ideally managing growth or digital marketing
  • Strong data analysis and Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret data from multiple sources, analyse trends, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
  • AI knowledgeable / automation experience is a big plus
  • Proficiency with analytics and data visualisation tools, e.g. GA4, Looker or Metabase
  • Proven experience managing external agencies and partners to deliver against commercial targets
  • Autonomous, organised, and comfortable juggling multiple workstreams and priorities across two brands
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present strategy and results to senior stakeholders

What's in it for me? ☀️

We offer a number of team-wide benefits:

  • Competitive salary, depending on your experience
  • 25 days' holiday allowance (prorated)
  • Generous plant and flower discount across brands to help you bring your own home to life + plus a friends & family discount
  • Regular team socials
  • Weekly team lunch
  • 2–3 days per week working in our beautiful London office
  • The rest of the week to work from wherever you feel most productive
  • Excellent progression and learning opportunities for the right candidate
  • Health insurance enrolment offered
  • Workplace Nursery Scheme to help parents save on childcare
  • If there's something important to you that's not on this list, let us know
