Cybersecurity SOC Engineer

Title                                     : Cybersecurity SOC Engineer

Location                             : Draper, UT

Pay Rate                             : $53/hr on C2C

Duration                            : 12+ Months

Relevant Experience (in Yrs.): 8+yrs.

Role Descriptions:

·         Lead day-to-day SOC operations, including monitoring, alert triage, escalation, and initial incident response.

·         Manage the SOC case/ticket queue, including prioritization, assignment, tracking, documentation, and closure.

·         Monitor and maintain SLA compliance for security cases and escalations.

·         Serve as a senior escalation point for complex or high-priority security alerts and incidents.

·         Work closely with Cyber Defense, Technology Operations, IT, and Engineering teams.

·         Coordinate security-related issues involving system changes, outages, access requests, and infrastructure findings.

·         Support incident response activities including triage, containment recommendations, escalation, and remediation coordination.

·         Coordinate SOC shift coverage and on-call activities as required.

·         Improve and maintain SOC playbooks, runbooks, detection content, and SOPs.

·         Mentor SOC analysts and provide guidance on investigations, documentation, communication, and escalation.

·         Track SOC metrics including case volume, time-to-triage, time-to-resolution, backlog, and escalation rates.

·         Participate in post-incident reviews and implement lessons learned.

·         Ensure effective handoffs and clear communication between Cyber Defense and Technology Operations.

·         Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of security operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
