Job Description

We are working with a leading defence organisation looking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to develop software solutions used to test complex missile systems and their sub-components. The role offers the chance to work across the product lifecycle, contribute to modern engineering practices and develop expertise in automation, continuous integration and DevOps.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing test equipment software for complex missile systems and sub-components
  • Writing and maintaining software using C and C++, with opportunities to contribute to scripting and other emerging technologies
  • Working within an agile development team to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions
  • Supporting software quality practices, automated testing and continuous integration
  • Using electronic measurement and debugging equipment to investigate issues and support test activities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous software engineering experience developing test solutions
  • Strong programming skills in C or C++, with scripting experience beneficial
  • Experience working within an agile software development team
  • A good understanding of software quality practices, automation, continuous integration and DevOps principles
  • Knowledge of electronic measurement and debugging techniques using equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers

The role typically involves working on-site 3-5 days per week due to the classification of the work. Relocation support may also be available for suitable candidates.
