Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job Title - Staff SRE Engineer

Location - Sunnyvale CA (Hybrid)

Length - Contract (12 Months+)

Description -

Background & Requirements:
- Industry Background: Open to candidates from any industry (medical device/healthcare experience is not required).
  - Level: Senior-level Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).
  - On-Call: Standard SRE on-call rotation. Overtime is compensated, and comp time/days off are provided for weekend work.
Technical Skills & Stack:
- Observability & Monitoring: Datadog, Prometheus, PagerDuty (heavy use).
  - Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS and Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes stack.
  - IaC & Tools: Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, Jira, Confluence.
  - Scripting & Fundamentals: Python, strong Software Development fundamentals, solid System/Cloud Architecture understanding.
  - Data Pipelines: Understanding of data pipelines, streaming, and batch processing.

Key Responsibilities & Competencies:
- Incident response, root cause analysis, triaging, and troubleshooting.
  - Reliability (SLO/SLI management), observability, production readiness, and resilience engineering.
  - Work directly with software developers to set up monitoring in Datadog.
  - Scale systems and manage availability.
  - Familiarity with AI tools.
  - Strong communication skills to effectively present work and technical logic.

Ideal Candidate:
- Someone with hands-on experience in both Cloud Architecture and worked as a SRE.
