The Role • Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) to move shipping containers within the intermodal yard. • Load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring safety and accuracy. • Position containers and chassis using hostlers to optimize yard logistics. • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to maintain safety standards. • Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily operations and tasks. • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established protocols and procedures. What You'll Need • A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders and stairs. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, encompassing day or evening shifts, weekends, and holidays. • Strong commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail. • Basic communication skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a team. • Ability to pass a background verification, physical, and drug screening.
