Talent Solutions Group is recruiting a Senior AI Engineer for a confidential enterprise technology opportunity in Chicago.

We're looking for a strong software or data engineer who wants to help design, build, and deploy modern AI applications using large language models (LLMs), Python, and AWS.

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity focused on building new AI capabilities, developing the data infrastructure that supports them, and taking solutions from early development through production.

You don't need to be an AI researcher or have years of specialized agentic AI experience. We're particularly interested in engineers with strong Python, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and application development backgrounds who are excited about working with emerging AI technologies.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy LLM-powered applications and AI agent workflows.

• Build and maintain data pipelines that make enterprise information accessible and usable by AI applications.

• Develop Python-based services, integrations, and automation supporting AI capabilities.

• Design data ingestion, transformation, and retrieval processes for structured and unstructured information.

• Build and manage AWS infrastructure supporting AI applications and development workflows.

• Develop deployment pipelines and automated processes for AI agents and related services.

• Integrate LLMs with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and internal systems.

• Implement safeguards for AI reliability, security, data protection, and responsible use.

• Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and reliability issues.

• Collaborate with engineers and help mentor less-experienced team members.

• Contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards, and implementation decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Python software engineering, data engineering, AI application development, or a related technical discipline.

• Solid Python programming skills and experience building production-quality applications or data solutions.

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with databases or enterprise data.

• Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application or data infrastructure.

• Experience developing APIs, integrations, data pipelines, or backend services.

• Understanding of modern software engineering practices, including Git, testing, CI/CD, and deployment automation.

• Familiarity with LLM applications, generative AI, or AI-assisted development.

• Ability to design reliable, maintainable solutions and independently solve complex technical problems.

• Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with and mentor other engineers.

Particularly Valuable Experience

• Data engineering, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and data pipeline development.

• Building data infrastructure that supports analytics, AI, or machine learning applications.

• Developing LLM-powered applications, AI agents, or automated workflows.

• AWS infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational support.

• Python-based backend engineering and API development.

• Experience integrating AI applications with enterprise data sources.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Anthropic Claude, Amazon Bedrock, or other commercial LLM platforms.

• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks, tool calling, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Familiarity with Databricks or modern cloud data platforms.

• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or infrastructure as code.

• Understanding of AI security concerns such as prompt injection, data leakage, and hallucination.

• Experience in financial services or another regulated environment.

Direct experience building production agentic AI systems is a plus, not a requirement.
