Role Overview

The position combines production-quality Python Scripting and tooling with operational support of PingDS (ForgeRock DS), working across automation, deployment, migration, and production support activities. The role sits within a modern DevOps environment and requires familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and AI-assisted development tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-quality Python scripts, utilities, APIs, and integrations for automation, data processing, and operational tasks across IAM and Directory Services environments.
• Support IAM and Directory Services platforms - primarily PingDS (ForgeRock DS) - across migration, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and production support activities.
• Administer and manage Linux/RHEL environments, including filesystem management, log analysis, networking fundamentals, and performance troubleshooting.
• Automate migration, deployment, reconciliation, validation, monitoring, and operational activities using Python and Bash/Shell Scripting within CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain and contribute to modern engineering practices including Git, Python package management, testing frameworks, and secure coding standards across the development life cycle.

• PingDS/ForgeRock DS expertise - Proven experience supporting PingDS or ForgeRock DS platforms across migration, upgrade, configuration, and production support, with the ability to understand and work alongside existing Java-based PingDS components.
• Linux/RHEL administration - Working knowledge of Linux/RHEL systems including filesystem, permissions, services, networking, log analysis, and Bash/Shell Scripting for operational automation.
• Directory services & IAM protocols - Solid understanding of LDAP/LDAPS, SCIM, directory replication, schema management, TLS/certificate management, REST APIs, JSON, and core IAM security fundamentals.
• DevOps & automation tooling - Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Python package management, Ansible, Terraform, and AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, with appropriate validation and secure-use practices.

Role Details

• Rate: £475 per day Inside IR35
• Location: Hybrid in London or Glasgow
• Duration: 12 Month initial Contract
