Job Description

London | £180k-£400k+ TC | Trading Infrastructure

I'm working with several leading quantitative trading firms looking for engineers who enjoy sitting between software engineering, systems and production infrastructure.

This isn't traditional IT support.

Production Engineers within these environments write software, design infrastructure and own the reliability of systems that are fundamental to live trading. At some firms, Production Engineers are embedded directly into software teams; elsewhere they own firm-wide platforms and monitoring infrastructure.

You could work on:
  • Automation and reliability engineering
  • Linux systems at significant scale
  • Monitoring, observability and alerting
  • Production trading infrastructure
  • Incident investigation and root-cause analysis
  • Performance and capacity engineering
  • Deployment and configuration platforms
  • Networking and distributed systems
  • Removing operational work through software
  • Designing systems for resilience and failure recovery

The best people in these teams don't simply react when something breaks. They understand why it broke, engineer the underlying problem away and build platforms that prevent entire classes of failures recurring.

Looking for:
  • Strong Linux fundamentals
  • Programming/scripting ability - Python, Go, C++, Rust, etc.
  • Systems and networking knowledge
  • Experience operating complex production environments
  • Strong debugging ability
  • Automation-first mentality
  • Calmness when diagnosing genuinely critical systems

These are excellent roles for strong SRE, Production Engineering, Systems or Infrastructure engineers who want more technically demanding problems and direct ownership.

Whilst we carefully review all applications, to all jobs, due to the high volume of applications we receive it is not possible to respond to those who have not been successful.
