Debian Developer or Maintainer

Role: Debian Maintainer or Debian Developer

Location: Austin, Tx/ Sunnyvale, CA/ Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 months

Key Requirement: Candidate must be an active member of the Debian Community and should have hands-on experience as a Debian Maintainer (DM) or Debian Developer (DD).

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end Debian packaging lifecycle, including creating, maintaining, updating, and uploading .deb packages.
• Ensure packages comply with Debian Policy and packaging standards.
• Manage Debian archives and internal repositories using tools such as apt, reprepro, debpool, pbuilder, and sbuild.
• Handle dependency resolution, shared libraries/SONAMEs, kernel, and toolchain issues.
• Triage bugs, address CVEs/security vulnerabilities, backport fixes, and coordinate upstream/downstream changes.
• Develop reproducible Debian package builds and automate packaging through CI/CD pipelines.
• Work closely with the broader Debian community on package maintenance and integration.
