Your New Role
As our new Principal, you will lead business development, client relationships, and technical delivery focused on human health risk assessment, community health, environmental health sciences, and emerging environmental challenges. You will help clients navigate complex regulatory, legal, and stakeholder environments while building trusted advisor relationships with industry, government, and legal-sector clients.
This role combines technical excellence, strategic leadership, and commercial responsibility. You will work closely with clients and colleagues across Health Sciences, Water, Site Solutions, Sustainability, and Environment & Health practices to deliver integrated solutions that support sound, science-based decision making.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Leadership
- Develop and expand client relationships across industrial, commercial, government, and legal sectors
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with practice growth objectives
- Lead proposal development, strategic pursuits, and major client accounts
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating regulatory and public health challenges
- Collaborate across Ramboll's global network to bring integrated solutions to clients
Technical Leadership
- Direct complex risk assessment and community health projects
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance on key deliverables
- Communicate scientific findings to technical, regulatory, legal, and community audiences
- Support clients during stakeholder engagement, regulatory interactions, and public meetings
- Advance innovative approaches for emerging environmental and public health issues
Thought Leadership
- Publish technical articles and present at scientific conferences
- Participate in professional societies, industry groups, and regulatory forums
- Help shape Ramboll's market presence in environmental health sciences
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings and strategic growth initiatives
People Leadership
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level consultants
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
- Support recruitment and growth of the Risk Assessment & Community Health practice
- Help build future leaders within the Health Sciences team
About You

Successful candidates will typically possess:
- Advanced degree (M.S., M.P.H., Ph.D., Dr.P.H., or equivalent) in Public Health, Toxicology, Environmental Health, Exposure Science, Risk Assessment, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of environmental health consulting or related experience
- Demonstrated record of successful business development and revenue generation
- Strong relationships with industry, regulatory, legal, or government clients
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences
- Experience supporting environmental justice or community health initiatives, with litigation support or expert witness services, with PFAS, air toxics, cumulative impacts, or emerging contaminants is desired. As well as being a recognized subject matter expertise within environmental health sciences with an existing professional network capable of supporting continued practice growth.

Salary Transparency
At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $234,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
