Quick Overview
Job Description
Physical Intelligence is bringing general-purpose AI into the physical world. We are a group of engineers, scientists, roboticists, and company builders developing learning algorithms to create a model that will control any robot to do any task.
The Team
The Set Team plans, builds, and maintains these environments so research can run on real-world tasks. "Sets" are the physical rooms and scenes where our robots collect data: kitchens, living rooms, evaluation stations, and more. As Set Team Coordinator, you'll plan and deliver every set remodel from requirements to ready, working with researchers, environment designers + our build, move, and prop teams.
In This Role You Will
Plan Builds: Translate research requirements into a weekly build plan, and set the priority order when remodels compete for the crew.
Source & Purchase: Decide which props and environment items (and substitutes) meet each requirement, then source and purchase them.
Coordinate the Work: Direct contractor build, move, and set work day to day, and coordinate across the environment, move, and prop teams.
Verify & Sign Off: Check that each set is complete and meets spec, and sign off before it's handed off for data collection.
Get Hands-On: Step in on staging and ad hoc builds when needed.
What We Hope You'll Bring
2+ years in set building, production design, event or retail installs, or facilities.
Experience planning work across several teams on tight timelines.
Purchasing experience and strong attention to detail.
Sound judgment when requirements change week to week.
Comfort on your feet and hands-on when needed.
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
