Role Overview
This organization is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of complex technology projects, including initiatives related to ERP modernization and enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate is a strong, hands-on IT Project Manager with experience managing cross-functional technology projects from initiation through implementation. This role will be responsible for managing project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, vendors, and stakeholder communication while partnering closely with business and IT teams.
Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, migrations, or modernization projects is highly valued, but this role does not require someone who has served as an enterprise ERP Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex IT projects from planning through implementation, ensuring projects are delivered within defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, resource plans, and status reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT, business operations, vendors, and external implementation partners.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define project requirements, deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and competing priorities, developing mitigation and escalation plans as needed.
  • Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, executive updates, and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage third-party vendors and applicable project contracts, including supporting RFP development, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiations.
  • Establish appropriate project governance, documentation, processes, and controls.
  • Support technology implementation and ERP-related initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, integrations, testing, training, and deployment activities.
  • Coordinate with business and technical teams to support user readiness, training, change management, and transition to operations.
  • Apply organizational change management practices as appropriate to ensure successful project adoption.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, with a strong focus on IT and technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, complex IT projects involving multiple business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, vendors, and dependencies.
  • Experience working within structured IT PMO and project governance environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise application or ERP-related projects strongly desired.

Technical/Project Management Skills
  • Strong knowledge of standard project management methodologies, processes, and controls.
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and/or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Strong vendor management, RFP, contract, risk management, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Proficiency with standard project management and business productivity tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, migrations, or modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP, or other enterprise ERP platforms.
  • Experience specifically with Oracle Cloud ERP is highly preferred.
  • Utility or energy industry experience.
  • Experience with broader enterprise technology transformation, system implementation, or application modernization projects.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders, technical teams, system integrators, and third-party vendors in complex enterprise environments.
