3-Month Contract Immediate Start Hybrid Working

A Surrey based social housing provider is looking for an experienced Income Officer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract with an immediate start available.

This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own patch, take ownership of rent arrears cases and make a real impact on income collection and tenancy sustainment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of rent arrears accounts from early intervention through to legal action
• Negotiate affordable repayment arrangements with tenants and support them in sustaining their tenancies
• Conduct home visits, telephone interviews and correspondence with residents
• Provide advice on welfare benefits, Universal Credit and income maximisation
• Prepare legal documentation for court proceedings and attend hearings where required
• Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to support vulnerable residents
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Deliver a high-quality customer-focused service whilst meeting collection targets

Essential Experience

• Previous experience working as an Income Officer, Rent Recovery Officer or similar within social housing
• Strong knowledge of rent arrears recovery and tenancy management
• Experience dealing with Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and welfare reform
• Ability to manage legal action relating to rent arrears and possession proceedings
• Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills
• Experience managing a busy caseload and prioritising workloads effectively

• Initial 3-month contract
• Immediate start available
• Hybrid working with a minimum of 50% office attendance
