Data Governance Consultant

Required Skills

• Strong Data Governance experience.
• Experience with Data Management, Data Stewardship, Metadata, Data Quality, and Data Catalogs.
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
• Experience with change management and organizational adoption.
• Ability to develop governance strategies, implementation plans, training, and communications.
• Knowledge of data privacy, security, compliance, and risk management.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple language.
• Strong documentation and executive-level communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data governance, data management, enterprise information management, or organizational change management.
• Public-sector or highly regulated industry experience.
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK and data governance maturity models.
• Knowledge of AI Governance / Responsible AI, including NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
• Experience developing and delivering training, workshops, presentations, and communications.
• Experience supporting governance councils, committees, or working groups.
• Experience with enterprise data catalogs, metadata, business glossaries, data inventories, and issue-tracking tools.
• Certifications such as CDMP, Prosci/Change Management, PMP, CISA, or CIPM are desirable but not required.
