About the Role

We are seeking an AI-Enabled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join an Engineering-First Quality Engineering team. This is not a traditional QA role—we hire software engineers who build robust automation systems, system testability, and production reliability into mission-critical platforms.

You will lead the creation of scalable automation solutions from scratch, embed AI/GenAI into engineering workflows, and design quality enforcement into every phase of the SDLC.

Core Responsibilities

• Automation Engineering: Build scalable, developer-grade automation frameworks across UI (Playwright), REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

• AI & Spec-Driven Engineering: Leverage GenAI tools, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations to accelerate test design, evaluation, and automated pipeline verification.

• CI/CD Quality Gates: Embed automated tests, quality gates, and evaluation frameworks directly into continuous integration pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity).

• System Observability & Reliability: Debug complex distributed systems using logs, metrics, and traces; participate in release certifications, incident triage, and production validation.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: 5–10 years in software engineering, test automation, or SDET roles.

• Core Languages: Expert-level proficiency in Java or Python (OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns).

• UI & API Automation: Hands-on expertise with Playwright, REST APIs, and SQL backend validation.

• Modern AI Tech: Experience with Prompt Engineering, AI Agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and AI Evaluation Frameworks.

• DevOps & Pipeline Tools: Practical experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity, and CI/CD quality gate enforcement.

• On-Site Requirement: Willingness to work in the New York City office 3 days per week and attend a face-to-face interview in NYC.
