Senior/Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a Chartered Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its creative and collaborative Building Engineering Team in London on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity to contribute to technically inspiring projects across the rail, residential, commercial and social infrastructure sectors, from feasibility through to practical completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across complex UK and international projects<br />Developing mechanical system strategies and contributing to design decisions from project inception to completion<br />Directing comfort and thermal analysis for buildings and occupied spaces<br />Supervising the spatial and technical coordination of building services and their integration into wider designs<br />Managing the production of models, drawings, reports and specifications to agreed budgets and deadlines<br />Supervising and coordinating the work of colleagues, external disciplines and in-house specialists<br />Supporting sustainable building design, including energy efficiency, carbon reduction and decarbonisation strategies<br />Providing guidance, training and constructive feedback to support the development of others Job

Requirements:

Chartered Engineer status with relevant experience in mechanical or building services engineering<br />Strong mechanical engineering design and technical delivery skills<br />Experience working collaboratively within multi-professional design teams<br />Broad knowledge of mechanical systems, installations and project sectors, including rail or major infrastructure environments<br />Experience in using and leading the application of energy modelling software, ideally IES<br />Knowledge of sustainable building design, energy performance, carbon reduction and retrofit solutions<br />Creative and inquisitive approach, with an interest in integrating requirements beyond the mechanical engineering discipline<br />Strong commercial awareness, including resource planning and financial management<br />Interest in developing and integrating digital tools to improve engineering workflows<br />Excellent communication, coordination, leadership and problem-solving skills
