Job Description

Role Summary
This position requires an experienced Voice over IP (VoIP) engineer with a high level of technical expertise in voice systems, telecommunication networks, and project leadership. The role involves supporting and enhancing complex voice infrastructure within a healthcare-focused environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and strategic planning. It offers an opportunity to contribute to high-visibility projects integral to organizational credibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and support VoIP systems, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity/Unity Connection, and related platforms
  • Lead the integration of CTI connectors such as NovelVox, SpinSci, or AMC, with a focus on NovelVox deployment with Epic and Cisco UC Manager
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex interface issues involving REST APIs, JSON, SOAP, HL7, FHIR, XML, and authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML)
  • Implement and optimize Webex Contact Center, Webex AI, and automation solutions, including virtual assistants and screen-pop functionalities
  • Manage and configure Cisco IP telephony solutions, including SIP trunking, dial plans, and omnichannel routing (voice, chat, email)
  • Provide expert-level support for Cisco network infrastructure, including routers, LAN/WAN circuits, QoS, and security measures
  • Lead architectural planning, system upgrades, and capacity planning for voice and network infrastructure
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative voice solutions aligned with organizational needs and compliance standards
  • Mentor and train lower-level engineers and operational staff, sharing best practices and technical knowledge
  • Maintain documentation, monitor system health, and ensure continuous performance optimization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in voice operations, voice engineering, or telecommunications
  • At least five (5) years of experience in IT administration or engineering, with three (3) years focused on VoIP, networking, or telecommunications
  • Proven track record managing IT telecommunication infrastructure and leading technical teams on complex projects for three or more years
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Contact Center platforms, UC Manager, and Webex Contact Center solutions
  • Strong knowledge of SIP, QoS, network security, and integration of CTI connectors like NovelVox with Epic and Cisco platforms
  • Familiarity with healthcare communication standards such as HL7 and FHIR, alongside HIPAA compliance awareness
  • Relevant Cisco Certifications (preferred: CCIE, CCNP, CCDP, CCSA, CCIP) and technical proficiency in REST, XML, OAuth, and SAML
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, with excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Availability for on-call support, after-hours work, and working in a hybrid environment with a combination of remote and on-site work

Publishing Pay Range: $80.00 - $90.00 hourly

Location Requirements: This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
