NCDHHS Tableau Administrator/Developer

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a customer-oriented and experienced Tableau Administrator/Developer. This role will interface with key business stakeholders to provide solutions by leveraging Business Intelligence, data, and technical skills. This is a hybrid position where responsibilities are divided between server administration, serving as a center of excellence, and consulting on content development.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing configuration, maintenance, and support of the Tableau server product.
• Provide operational support for the Tableau platform.
• Establish and manage a centralized "center of excellence" for Tableau usage, including an internal user group.
• Serve as a connection point for business stakeholders seeking to use the tool.
• Train staff on Tableau development and best practices.
• Consult on the development of dashboard and report content.
• Interface and communicate effectively with business representatives and key internal customers.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in Business Intelligence software development and maintenance.
• At least 2 years of Tableau-specific experience.
• 1-3 years of relevant Tableau Server administration experience in an enterprise environment.
• Data modeling experience, including best practices and impact analysis.
• Experience with the installation, configuration, and support of Tableau Server and associated client products.

Technical Skills:

• Expert knowledge of Tableau development, practices, techniques, and standards.
• Expertise in dashboard and report development using the Tableau BI Product Suite.
• Familiarity with application-specific processes related to data management, SQL, and SAAS.
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing, data modeling, and report design concepts.

General Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Strength in understanding and analyzing requirements to deliver solutions within the Tableau platform.
