Job description:
SUMMARY
Maintain/modernize legacy IBM i apps on Infinite i (AS/400 workloads running on Linux). Need deep RPG/CL skills + strong debugging + willingness to learn the platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop/maintain apps on Infinite i
- Maintain legacy RPG + write new dev in RPG IV free-format/ILE
- Write/maintain CL programs
- Maintain DDS files (physical/logical, display screens, printer files)
- Root-cause analysis: bugs, job logs, dumps, data issues
- Work directly with business users on requirements/solutions
- AS/400 operational admin - job/queue monitoring, subsystem mgmt, backups, print/output mgmt
- Comfortable in Linux environment
REQUIRED SKILLS
- RPG IV, free-format, ILE (strong) + older/fixed-format RPG (working knowledge)
- CL programming
- DDS (physical/logical files, display files, printer files)
- DB2 for i
- Strong debugging/problem analysis
- AS/400 operational admin (not full infra/security ownership)
- Basic Linux OS knowledge
- Strong oral/written communication with business stakeholders
- Open to learning Infinite i (short ramp-up expected)
- Candidate also needs to know Infinium
NICE TO HAVE
- IBM i-to-Linux migration/modernization exposure
- Infinite i or similar rehosting platform experience
- Embedded SQL RPG
