Azure / Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer
Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida (Hybrid)
Role Overview
An established data organization is seeking a primary Microsoft Fabric subject matter expert to join the team. The successful candidate will support both the migration of selected workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric and new development within the Fabric environment. This position involves translating enterprise architecture reference models into compliant, production-ready data solutions.
Key Responsibilities

• Interpret the enterprise architecture reference model and translate it into production-ready Fabric solutions.
• Build end-to-end data pipelines that ingest from varied sources, transform and model data, and publish curated data products using a medallion architecture.
• Prepare distinct datasets for the visualization team and the data science team.
• Write SQL, Python, notebooks, ETL/ELT workflows, and Azure Data Factory / Fabric orchestration.
• Work with OneLake and manage Fabric orchestrations.
• Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, IT engineers, data science, and business-side data teams.
• Utilize CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code concepts, integrating with delivery pipelines.
• Operate within Agile sprints, track delivery, and report progress appropriately.
• Support feature engineering and data preparation to meet machine-learning data needs.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience as a technical subject matter expert building solutions within Microsoft Fabric. Experience working in an Agile delivery environment is required.
Technical Skills: Proven expertise in Microsoft Fabric data engineering, including pipelines, notebooks, OneLake solutions, and medallion architecture patterns. Strong Azure data engineering background across Synapse, SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, and Azure Data Factory is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines and Bicep templates.
• Experience supporting data preparation specifically for data science and machine learning models.
