Director of AI and Data, Legal firm - eFinancialCareers

Our client, a leading global Legal / Professional Services firm with a growing Fund Services / Fiduciary arm, is looking for a talented senior AI and data leader with proven experience in AI and data strategy, transformation and delivery – preferably from a legal or professional services (Big Four) background.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. The Director of AI & Data will be responsible for leading the firm’s AI and data agenda, driving the transformation of ways of working through the effective, responsible and scalable use of artificial intelligence and data.
2. The role will translate strategic priorities into a clear programme of delivery, ensuring AI and data initiatives move from concept and experimentation into sustainable business adoption.
3. Working across legal, fiduciary and business services divisions on a global basis, the Director will identify opportunities to improve productivity, decision-making, service delivery and client outcomes through the intelligent use of AI and data.
4. Reporting to the Director of Service Innovation, the role requires strong matrix leadership, working with senior stakeholders across the firm to align priorities, drive adoption and deliver measurable business value.
5. Specific responsibilities will include: AI and Data Strategy and Delivery, Governance and Analytics, AI Adoption, Change and Capability building, Senior Stakeholder Leadership, Budget oversight and managing the AI and Data Delivery teams.

Experience:

1. Significant senior leadership experience delivering AI, data, digital or technology-enabled transformation within a complex organisation (law firm or professional services firm).
2. Proven experience leading enterprise-wide AI adoption programmes and embedding new ways of working at scale.
3. Strong understanding of AI technologies, data strategy, analytics, governance, architecture and responsible AI practices.
4. Experience building data capabilities that support operational effectiveness, business insight and AI deployment.
5. Leadership experience building and developing teams with strong mentoring and people skills.
6. Demonstrable ability to influence senior stakeholders (board-level) and lead delivery through a matrix organisation.
7. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate opportunities based on value, feasibility, risk and business impact.
8. Excellent programme leadership, prioritisation and governance skills.
9. A positive, creative and confident outlook, able to evolve and embed new AI and data processes and platforms on a global level.
