Finance Coordinator - Financial Accounting

Job Description
The Controller will provide leadership in accounting, financial reporting, and the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. They will oversee the accounting functions of the organization including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, gift accounting, budgeting support, financial reporting internally, audit coordination, and accounting systems operations.

Hours

This is a full-time position, scheduled for 40 hours per week
Leading and developing accounting operations and close cycle
Ongoing development of internal controls, policies, and procedures
Leading development of financial reporting packages
Performing ongoing analysis of financial statements
Leader of complex accounting transactions, changes, developments and GAAP compliance
Leading and mentoring team members in personal and professional development
Leading budgeting finalization and ongoing monitoring of results against budget.

Work with the CFO to maximize efficiency and develop the organizational finance functions
Work with the CFO to lead and develop a successful year-end audit.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
At least 8-10 years full-cycle accounting experience
At least 2-3 years’ audit-assurance experience
At least 5 years’ non-profit accounting experience
In-depth knowledge of non-profit tax, legal, and compliance
Advanced understanding of accounting systems and technology
Must be able to conduct complex accounting and tax research

Project management skills for leading financial systems implementations
Experience with Payroll systems
