Job Description

Overview VTG is looking for an Agile System Engineer in Chantilly, VA. The Agile System Engineer I supports system engineering activities within an Agile delivery environment, assisting with requirements development, backlog grooming, and integration planning under senior supervision. What will you do?

  • Support decomposition of mission and system requirements into Agile epics, features, and user stories
  • Assist with requirements traceability (e.g., RTM) across backlog items, design artifacts, and test cases
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) as a systems engineering contributor
  • Support system documentation including CONOPS, interface descriptions, and technical notes
  • Coordinate with developers, testers, and product owners to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Assist with integration and verification planning activities Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1-4 years of systems engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile lifecycle tools, Internship or academic project experience in systems engineering or Agile delivery
