ROLE: HR Specialist
CONTRACT: Permanent
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm
START: ASAP - October
SALARY: 28,000pa - 35,000pa
LOCATION: Ferndown

ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the HR specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting managers and employees across the business, ensuring an effective and approachable HR service. Working closely with the leadership team and HR Consultant, you'll put HR initiatives into practice, help drive people-focused strategies, and contribute to creating a positive and supportive working environment where employees can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full recruitment process, including job descriptions, recruitment campaigns, agency liaison, onboarding, and right-to-work compliance.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring all personnel information is up to date.
- Support payroll administration, including new starters, salary reviews, pay changes, and temporary worker arrangements.
- Coordinate employee development activities, including training programmes, appraisals, probation reviews, and apprenticeship schemes.
- Monitor absence, sickness, annual leave, and family leave records, providing support and guidance where required.
- Produce HR reports and workforce data to support management decision-making and people strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with training providers, colleges, and external partners to support employee development.
- Assist with employee benefits administration, including pensions, visas, passports, and company fleet-related processes.
- Support the review and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, and general people-related issues.
About You
- Previous experience in an HR Administration, HR Assistant, People Administrator, or similar HR support role.
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate employee records and confidential information.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, absence management, and general HR processes.
- Confident user of HR systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to produce reports and manage data effectively.
- Organised and proactive, with excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner when supporting managers and employees.
