The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to move shipping containers.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks within the intermodal yard.
• Drive hostlers to accurately position containers and chassis according to operational needs.
• Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage daily logistics operations.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all established protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is essential for this position.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing stairs/ladders.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Must pass pre-employment background verification, physical, and drug screening.
