Quick Overview
Job Description
Hello, we’re SURI. We're on a mission to radically transform oral care with beautiful everyday essentials designed for life. Championing high performance and future-focussed design, our award-winning sonic toothbrush transforms an uninspiring chore into an enjoyable daily ritual.
We seek to continually push the boundaries of what is possible and invite honest conversation on our collective journey.
Since launching our sonic toothbrush in 2022, we’ve delighted over 500k customers across the UK, Europe and US. In doing so, SURI has risen to become the highest-rated electric toothbrush on Trustpilot, while achieving B-Corp certification and securing listings in major US and UK retailers. As well as garnering widespread media attention, SURI has also picked up numerous prestigious industry awards including The Grocer Startup of the Year, Red Dot Design Award, and the Marie Claire Sustainability Award.
Why this role matters
At SURI, we're building more than toothbrushes, we're creating a world where the products we use every day are thoughtfully designed, perform brilliantly and waste less.
Operations is a crucial part of delivering that vision. We build scalable, resilient processes and execute with precision, so nothing stands between our products and the customers who want them, at any scale. Unconstraining our growth is how we can have the greatest reach.
The Demand Planning Manager will develop, implement, and lead our global demand planning process, reporting directly to the Operations Director. You’ll take full ownership of SKU-level demand planning, partnering with a cross-functional team to integrate the latest assumptions and deliver a single, accurate forecast that drives great decision-making across SURI. You’ll also drive our capability forward through leading projects — such as systems implementations, peak planning, process automation, analysis and insights generation — to help us scale intelligently.
What you'll do
Build the demand planning foundation
- Lead the implementation of Netstock as our demand planning system, configuring it to fit our product range, channels and territories.
- Design a single, structured demand plan that consolidates forecast input from all retailers and channels, and make it accessible to all who need it so we all sing from the same hymn sheet.
- Train and support the commercial and regional team members who own local inputs, so forecasts are entered consistently, on time, and to a standard you set.
Run the monthly IBP cycle
- Own and run a monthly IBP (integrated business planning) cycle; gathering inputs, reconciling them against a statistical baseline, and driving the cadence so it happens reliably, every month, without chasing.
- Lead the review meetings that challenge forecast assumptions, surface risks and opportunities, and hold contributors accountable to the process.
- Track forecast accuracy and bias, using them to continuously improve inputs, assumptions, and the process itself.
Turn the forecast into decisions
- Translate the demand plan into inventory recommendations; setting and adjusting safety stock and reorder points to protect service levels without tying up unnecessary cash.
- Give the wider business visibility on forecast and stock health, flagging risks early enough for ops and finance to act on them.
- Incorporate new product launches and SKU phase-outs into the plan, flagging inventory and cash implications as they happen.
Be SURI's demand planning expert
- Bring structure and rigour to this process; establish the demand plan as the trusted single source of truth for the business.
- Partner closely with Growth, Ops, and Finance so the plan reflects real market signals and becomes a reliable input to wider decision-making.
Champion sustainable decision-making
- Use demand and inventory data to reduce our environmental footprint — minimising reliance on air freight in favour of sustainable transport, and optimising distribution patterns to cut waste.
- Weigh sustainability alongside cost and service level when making inventory and logistics trade-offs, in line with our B Corp commitments.
- Bring a mission-led mindset to the role; understanding that getting the forecast right isn't just an ops metric, it's core to SURI's ability to deliver sustainable oral care at scale.
- 4–6 years' experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis, ideally within FMCG, e-commerce, or another fast-moving consumer environment.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, comfortable building and maintaining SKU-level forecasting models from scratch and improving them over time.
- Experience with ERP or demand planning systems (e.g. NetSuite, Netstock, or similar). You'll help us implement these tools as we adopt them, so comfort learning new systems matters more than experience with a specific one.
- Strong understanding of inventory concepts — safety stock, forecast accuracy, working capital trade-offs — and confidence applying judgement, not just running the model.
- Sharp analytical ability, turning messy, sometimes incomplete data into a forecast we can defend and explain.
- Proven project management skills, with experience driving a workstream to completion independently — for example a systems implementation or coordinating forecasts across an NPD launch.
- A confident, credible communicator able to influence senior stakeholders (leadership, growth, finance, ops) and hold your ground on the forecast when priorities conflict.
- Commercially minded; you understand how forecast decisions flow through to inventory cost, cash, and service levels, not just forecast accuracy in isolation.
- Highly organised and self-directed, comfortable being the sole owner of a business-critical process in a fast-paced, resource-lean environment.
- Proactive and collaborative, with a continuous-improvement mindset toward process and forecast accuracy.
What we’ll love about you
- Experience in FMCG, oral care, or consumer electronics; you understand product lifecycles, promotional trends, and the supply chain dynamics that come with them.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant numerical or logical discipline would be great but not a must.
- Prior experience helping implement or roll out a new planning or ERP system; you know what a smooth go-live looks like and where the pitfalls are.
- Proactive and ownership-driven; you close the loop without being asked.
- Comfortable making judgement calls independently and getting stuck in, in a lean, fast-moving team.
- Detail-oriented but able to zoom out and connect insights across channels and territories.
- A clear, timely communicator who keeps the right people informed before they have to ask.
- Genuine interest in and alignment with SURI's mission as a B Corp. You care about the environmental impact of supply chain decisions, and are passionate about changing the world of personal care for the better.
