Quick Overview
Job Description
Technical Project Manager / Lead Experience:
8 to 12 years in software delivery, with strong hands-on engineering depth and 3+ years leading a squad. Comfortable being both a delivery owner and a working technical lead.
Role summary:
Technical Lead who can own one module (or a tightly related module cluster) end to end, from SME clarification and user stories through development, review and module acceptance. This is a hybrid role: it runs the sprint and owns the backlog like a PM, and sets technical direction and reviews code like a lead. The lead is the human accountable for the quality and correctness of everything the squad and its AI agents produce.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the module backlog: run SME clarification workshops, convert a near-final requirements document into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria in Confluence, and keep that specification under change control as the build contract.
- Plan and run sprints for the squad (typically senior and mid engineers plus QA): estimation, sprint planning, demos, and unblocking.
- Set the module's technical approach within the architect's cross-module contracts: service design, data model, API and event contracts, test strategy.
- Direct and review AI-generated code: ensure agents work to the agreed specs, and personally gate AI output that touches finance, access control or the audit trail before it merges.
- Own code review standards, branch and version-control discipline, and the definition of done for the module.
- Drive module-level quality: unit and integration coverage, security-by-design, performance, and readiness for VAPT and UAT.
- Coordinate cross-module dependencies with other leads and the architects.
- Report progress, risks and scope-change requests for the module, supporting the program's court-reporting cadence.
Must-have skills:
- Hands-on Java and Spring Boot, with the ability to design, review and debug microservices, not just manage them.
- Solid React and TypeScript understanding to guide full-stack delivery.
- Working command of PostgreSQL and Kafka in an event-driven design.
- Agile delivery leadership: backlog ownership, story writing, estimation, sprint facilitation.
- Strong requirements and stakeholder skills: able to run SME sessions and turn ambiguity into a frozen, testable spec.
- A rigorous code-review habit and the judgement to hold a quality line on AI-generated code.
