Utility Combo Technician - Fulltime

GTel is one of the fastest growing utility service companies in Ontario. In anticipation of our 2025 busy season, we're looking for individuals to join our growing team as a Utility Combo Technician. No experience required; we provide the training to ensure that you can get the job done accurately and proficiently!

Utility Combo Technician Job Duties

• Inspect underground utilities and read utility meters within designated areas.
• Transition between daily meter reading assignments and locating various utilities.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and the community.
• Work flexibly in response to changing customer demands.

Other Duties

• Maintain a health and safety mindset with customers and communities.
• Consult with contractors, developers, and builders regarding location of underground utilities.
• Prepare reports and documentation verifying marked utilities.
• Verify and accurately read meters.
• Safeguard company equipment and vehicle.
• Conduct sewer safety inspections.

Required Skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good customer service skills.
• Proficient use of a computer.
• Problem solving ability and good judgment.
• Physical ability to walk in and out of ditches, on uneven surfaces, and lift and load equipment up to 9 kg (20 lbs) multiple times per day, carrying/swinging 20 lbs of equipment while walking.
• Ability to work in all types of weather.
• Valid "G" class Driver's License and clean 3 year Driver's Abstract (position includes company vehicle for business use only).
• Availability to work weekends on call and overtime as required.
