AWS Cloud Developer

Note: Must be local to Kansas City or Washington DC.
Position Overview

We are seeking an AWS Cloud Developer to help modernize and scale a core financial loan origination and servicing platform. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy secure, serverless cloud-native applications using Java, AWS serverless technologies, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines in an Agile environment.

Top Required Skills

• AWS Serverless: Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, Cognito, Aurora, and DynamoDB.

• Java Development: Strong hands-on Java development experience within enterprise-scale applications.

• IaC & DevOps: Terraform or AWS CDK, automated CI/CD pipelines, and AWS DevOps practices.

• Cloud Architecture & Security: Event-driven architecture, IAM, security best practices, and CloudWatch/X-Ray for monitoring and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy serverless, event-driven applications using AWS services.

• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK.

• Develop backend services using Java and integrate with AWS cloud services.

• Optimize cloud solutions for security, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and handle monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.

Key Qualifications

• Required: Proven experience with AWS serverless services, enterprise Java programming, IaC (Terraform/CDK), CI/CD, and cloud security.

• Preferred: AWS Certifications (Developer or Solutions Architect), exposure to AI development tools (GitHub Copilot), Docker/ECS, and prior experience in banking, fintech, or loan systems.
