The Executive Director of Product Management is a strategic and detail-oriented leader who has proven experience delivering outcomes at scale with excellence and measurable results. You will ensure best-in-class products for New Yorkers by cultivating high-performing product managers, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and leading teams.
Responsibilities will include:
- Build strategic relationships with senior leaders across agencies and disciplines to deliver SPEED objectives to shorten the new construction permitting;
- Engage non-technical stakeholders on complex topics in plain language informed by strong technical fluency;
- Lead, manage, and coach a team of product managers to deliver outcomes to New Yorkers;
- Model and promote evidence-based problem solving to identify and define new digital product opportunities;
- Identify new trends, technology and strategic relationships to build scalable products for New Yorkers;
- Set up teams for success and help to navigate organizational roadblocks;
- Present to a large variety of audiences in plain language, clarifying complex problems simply and with clear priorities;
- Demonstrate high design standards and inclusion to build a diverse, high-performing team;
- Inspire City partners and colleagues to anchor their work in human-centered design, user research methodologies and evidence-based solutioning.
- Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
HOURS/SHIFT
Day - Due to the necessary management duties of this position in a 24/7 operation, candidate may be required to be on call and/or work various shifts such as weekends and/or nights/evenings.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to projects and policies required by the particular position;
or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Preferred Skills
The preferred candidate should possess several of the following: - 12+ years of experience in product management with 5+ years in a senior executive role - Ability to persuade and align diverse partners and executives - Proven success in leading and coaching strong teams with tangible successes - Incredible strategy, focus and interpersonal skills with a track record of delivering impactful products on time and with a happy team - Strong analytical skills and ability to ask relevant questions to identify biggest opportunities and tenable solutions - Self-motivated and creative problem solver with an excellent ability to influence without authority - Hands on experience leading multiple product development cycles for public facing digital tools or services from concept to launch - Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams of product, engineer and data experts to deliver digital products and services - Fast learner with ability to oversee and coach across multiple products from strategy to executional details - Best-in-class attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills - Exemplifies diversity, equity and inclusion work in past projects - Experience of working across ecosystems, platforms and new technologies.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
