Head of Trading and Operations (USA)

Trexquant is a quantitative investment management firm specializing in systematic trading across global financial markets. We leverage advanced technology, data, and AI-driven research to develop and execute investment strategies across multiple asset classes.

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the firm’s daily trading operations across global markets. The primary responsibility is to ensure accurate trading and settlement, keep operational processes running reliably, and monitor execution quality as the firm grows in complexity.

Responsibilities

• Trading Operations: Oversee daily trading activities across global markets and asset classes, ensuring accurate and timely execution, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Operational Reliability: Ensure all trading and operational processes function smoothly, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they affect the business.
• Trade Execution: Work closely with execution teams to monitor trading performance, transaction costs, broker connectivity, and execution quality.

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related STEM fields.

• 8+ years of experience in trading operations, middle office, or related functions at a quantitative hedge fund or systematic proprietary trading firm
• Experience scaling trading operations across multiple asset classes is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of global equity trading, trade lifecycle management, prime brokerage, clearing, and settlement.
• Experience overseeing complex, automated trading environments across multiple markets and asset classes.
• Strong technical skills, including a solid understanding of trading systems, data flows, and operational infrastructure.
• Proven ability to anticipate issues, resolve them quickly, and implement practical solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Strong programming and systematic trading infrastructure fluency
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Hands-on leader who takes ownership of ensuring that everything works

The base salary for this role is $200,000, and will be determined based on the candidate’s educational background and professional experience. Base salary is one component of Trexquant’s total compensation package, which may also include a discretionary, performance-based bonus. This position is classified as overtime-exempt.
