Job Description

The Role:  You will test, rework and debug printed circuit boards, build experimental setups for design testing of high-speed electromechanical assemblies for new product development. You will be a vital contributor to the development of new laser engraving and inkjet printing products and work in a new group of talented engineers within a well-established multinational company.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Debug and design validation of board and system level electronic designs
  • Design validation testing (major focus on electronics)
  • Conduct testing of mechanical, electrical, and optical components, subsystems and systems
  • Document experimental conditions and test results
  • Build prototypes and test fixtures; interface with external vendors for complex parts
  • Inspect incoming parts
  • Manage lab and lab equipment, including calibration
  • Effectively interact with other members of the technical team to create a safe, fun, and productive work environment
  • Design and verify cables

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum: an associate’s degree and 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience reworking PCBs, solder to add or remove components
  • Experience with at least one data acquisition system
  • Use of lab equipment (Oscilloscope, DVM, Function generator, soldering station, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Debug under the guidance of an Engineer
  • Attention to details
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and new tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • MSOffice tools
  • Altium designer (considered a plus)
  • Simple mechanical machining skills (considered a plus)
  • Some 3D mechanical CAD experience (considered a plus)
  • Programming of motor drives (considered a plus)
  • Jr. level layout and design of PCBs (considered a plus)
