Job Description

Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are excited to be recruiting for Hangar Cleaners to join one of our well-respected and successful clients at Gatwick Airport. This job offers full-time hours, overtime opportunities and an immediate start. This is a very enjoyable role with a great company providing fantastic working conditions and facilities.

What’s on offer:

  • Rate of Pay: £13.50 per hour.
  • Day Shifts available: 07:00 am to 17:00 pm - This may be subject to change, due to operational requirements.
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday This may be subject to change, due to operational requirements.
  • Weekly Pay (every Friday).
  • Full training provided.
  • Temp to Perm (performance-based)
  • ASAP Start!


Key Duties:

  • Support the Team Lead with daily hangar projects and tasks.
  • Carry out interior and exterior cleaning on British Airways (BA) aircraft.
  • Complete all levels of aircraft cleaning, including toilets, deep cleans, passenger seats, floors, overhead areas and kitchen galleys.
  • Clean and sanitise aircraft areas thoroughly to the required hygiene and customer standards.
  • Be comfortable working at height on and around aircraft, using the correct safety equipment.
  • Follow daily work schedules and instructions from the Team Lead.
  • This is a very physical role, involving bending, reaching, climbing, lifting and being on your feet for long periods. You must be physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work throughout your shift.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues to get the job done.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Working at Height and aviation safety procedures.
  • Use cleaning equipment, tools and chemicals safely and correctly.
  • Help with stock checks, equipment checks and completing required paperwork.
  • Keep the hangar and aircraft work areas clean, safe and organised.
  • Work closely with colleagues, British Airways teams and contractors to complete work safely, efficiently and on time.


Requirements:

  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Great work ethic.
  • Valid Passport or Driving Licence /Birth Certificate or National ID card.
  • UK Settled Status (If applicable).
  • Proof of National Insurance.
  • Proof of (current) Address.
  • 5 Year Address History.
  • 5 Year Work Reference History.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic criminal record check following interview in line with CAA requirements.
  • Previous airport and/or cleaning experience would be beneficial.

PLEASE NOTE: As this position is in the aviation industry, successful applicants must be able to provide 5-year checkable history.
