As Night Shift Manager, you will take full ownership of the warehouse operation throughout the night shift, leading the replenishment, forklift, picking and packing teams. 

This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for ensuring stock is replenished and available in the correct locations, outbound orders are picked and packed accurately and efficiently, and the warehouse is left fully prepared for the following day's operation. 

You will be the senior operational point of contact during the night, responsible for resource allocation, productivity, quality, safety and service performance. You will be expected to make decisions, resolve issues quickly and escalate anything that could materially impact customers or the wider operation. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage the complete night-shift warehouse operation across replenishment, forklift, picking and packing. 

• Lead, motivate and develop the night-shift team. 

• Allocate labour and move resources between functions based on workload and operational priorities. 

• Ensure pick locations are replenished throughout the night and ready for the following day's operation. 

• Manage the forklift team and ensure safe and efficient stock movements. 

• Own picking and packing productivity, accuracy and quality. 

• Monitor order volumes and backlog, taking action to protect customer SLAs and service levels. 

• Ensure all agreed outbound work is completed within required timescales. 

• Use the WMS and operational data to manage workload, productivity and performance. 

• Identify and resolve stock, system and operational issues. 

• Manage attendance, performance, standards and conduct across the shift. 

• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed. 

• Maintain a safe, clean and organised warehouse. 

• Act as the senior escalation point for operational issues during the night. 

• Provide a clear, data-led handover to the day operation covering performance, outstanding work, risks and actions. 

• Previous warehouse, fulfilment or logistics management experience. 

• Experience managing multiple warehouse functions and teams. 

• Strong understanding of replenishment, stock movements, picking and packing. 

• Experience managing forklift/MHE operations advantageous. 

• Strong WMS knowledge and comfortable using operational data to manage performance. 

• Confident managing a warehouse operation without senior management physically present. 

• Strong people-management, communication and problem-solving skills. 

• Bias to action and comfortable making operational decisions independently. 

• Strong focus on productivity, accuracy, service and safety. 

• Shift: 10:00pm - 8:00am 

• Pattern: 4 days per week 

• Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 DOE
