We are seeking a Sales Engineer (Network Infrastructure) to support the evaluation, design, and delivery of network infrastructure solutions for large-scale residential, commercial, and community properties. This role serves as the technical partner to the sales organization, helping determine the feasibility of network deployments, assess property infrastructure, develop preliminary solutions, and communicate technical recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines the technical expertise of a network engineer with the communication and relationship-building skills of a sales professional. This individual will work closely with customers, sales teams, project managers, and engineering groups to design solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with technical and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site assessments of apartment communities, commercial properties, and multi-dwelling environments to evaluate existing network infrastructure and serviceability.
  • Analyze cabling, wiring, distribution systems, access point placement, fiber pathways, and network architecture to determine technical feasibility.
  • Develop preliminary network designs, infrastructure layouts, and deployment recommendations based on customer requirements and site conditions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, project notes, property records, and design documentation.
  • Produce WiFi coverage assessments, heat maps, and infrastructure recommendations to support proposed solutions.
  • Partner with Sales teams during customer engagements to provide technical expertise and support the sales process.
  • Present technical solutions, project requirements, and infrastructure recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Serve as the primary engineering point of contact during sales discussions and customer presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and project teams to validate designs and estimate project costs.
  • Identify technical constraints, risks, and implementation challenges while recommending alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Maintain reporting and project tracking information for active and prospective properties.
  • Support project updates, stakeholder communications, and status reporting throughout the sales and planning lifecycle.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site walks, project reviews, and cross-functional planning sessions.

Required Skills
  • General knowledge of network infrastructure including fiber, cabling, structured wiring, access points, wireless networks, and network distribution systems.
  • Ability to evaluate network environments and determine technical feasibility for service deployments.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing projects, technical sales, consulting, or solutions engineering initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience creating project documentation, technical assessments, and solution recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Sales Engineer or Solutions Engineer experience.
  • Telecommunications, cable, internet service provider, or network infrastructure experience.
  • WiFi design and wireless network planning experience.
  • Fiber network design experience.
  • Experience creating heat maps and wireless coverage assessments.
  • Experience utilizing Bluebeam for design review and documentation.
  • Smartsheet experience.
  • Project management or technical project coordination experience.
  • Experience supporting MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) or commercial property deployments.
  • Knowledge of broadband, telecommunications, and network service delivery environments.
